Nebel said she is collecting signatures to join the District 51 race, where incumbent Tom Rice already faces a primary challenger. She has until July to collect 1,500 signatures.

 

“I want to effectively represent everyone in my district and I feel that I can accomplish this by being an independent legislator who can work with all members of the GA General Assembly, regardless of party affiliation,” Nebel wrote in an e-mail.
